This is the second kit I have purchased from the Edinburgh casting company and can not fault them very quick delivery and excellent instructions included with the kit also a free video on line you can watch instructions are very easy to follow to make your own cast ours turned out perfectly and often visitors who see it comment on how good it looks I have now purchased another as a gift for a family members Christmas and I am sure they will be delighted with it.

Stunning results-trust the process!

This really is such a beautiful idea. And so well designed that anyone can get perfect results. At a few points in the process I was sure I had messed up (alginate powder didn't combine easily with the water at first; felt there were too many air bubbles in the alginate; we probably took our hands out a bit too agressively...) But then I crumbled away the alginate to reveal the plaster and it was perfect! Captured so much fine detail. The cast is currently on the side drying and still uncanny to me to catch sight of it and totally recognise my partner's hand and his knuckles. Love it!

My beautiful mum has dementia, it is known as the long goodbye and it really is. I bought a hand casting kit for my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. We did the cast at the family party in August. We made a mistake when mixing, so the finished result had a lot of air bubbles. I was devastated and contacted the company. The asked me to send the cast to them, which I did. It has come back to me today, and has been completely restored. I don’t know how! But it is perfect. They are wizards. Cannot recommend the kits and their customer service enough. I now have my mum and dad holding hands forever.

creating this couple's hand casting kit was brilliant. We found it best watching a couple of you tube videos before. Do not hesitate to have a go. We are waiting for the hands to dry properly so we can paint them a brass/gold colour. we were really pleased and cant believe the detail that shows in the hands. The only thing I would say is that I have quite a tall engagement ring and it did not work at all. Either take big jewellery off or be prepared for the mould to maybe not work.

Really happy with the result of last weekends casting! It has come out perfect. My dad worked his magic and took off some bubbles that had appeared and my mom has placed it on a mirrored plinth, which sets it off beautifully. I think it looks amazing and they are thrilled with it too. Really happy I got to gift them this amazing casting kit. It only took nearly a year to complete since gifting Haha!!

Would highly recommend The Edinburgh Casting Studio, I bought the couples kit for Fathers Day for my dad who is terminally ill. It was so interesting and fun to watch my mum and dad make their casting but the real joy was peeling back the mould and seeing their life like hands! The detail is truly amazing! They both loved it so much and I’m sure my mum will always treasure it.

Lovely Gift

Such a lovely gift bought for our mums birthday for her to do with her own mum.She loved it. It came packaged really well and although a little messy it was great to do, the whole family got involved. The end result was amazing. Such detail and a beautiful keepsake for her to treasure.

Brilliant Casting Kit

On my Mum s 93rd birthday (2nd Oct 2017) her Grandchildren( Kerry Everett , Michael Fountain and Wendy Barton ) bought her an Edinburgh Casting kit which was recommended by Trixie and Dorrie Morley.( 103 yrs of age) My Mum , Christina Elliott was absolutely thrilled when we made the casting of our two hands clasped together. It's amazing how every small detail of our hands and rings can be seen. It will be a wonderful treasured family memory for years.

Don’t know where to start....the Edinburgh casting studio have been fabulous start to finish! I bought the couple hand cast kit with refill to make two casts, one of my mum and I and the other for my grandparents. Both casts turned out beautifully, the kit is easy to use and straightforward. The handbook takes you step by step with helpful hints and tips along the way. Alex at the Edinburgh casting studio has answered all my queries quickly and in depth, making sure that I got the most out of my casts. Would highly recommend!!!!!

Cannot decide what the most exciting thing was, casting in the pink jelly turning white or revealing the cast hands. The detail is amazing – not messy – we cannot believe we created this. I bought the couples casting kit and have made a sculpture of myself and husband holding hands and it looks great, I'd love to do a sculpture of our bodies, good fun, don't worry about the spillage as it will go hard and then it's easy to clean.
